I.XX.XVII. The Lightning Trick

My friend Aaron did a lot of work in theater through his education, including set design. One day, he was telling me about an interesting gimmick he used in lighting a set that, at the right moment, would change the color of an actress' gown from one color to another without changing the perceptible light viewed by the audience. He referred to it as a "lighting trick," but slipped and said "lightning."

This was among the first work cartoons I ever drew and remains among my favorites.
